Part of the Church of England

in Cramlington

m5

We are a small, friendly congregation, offering a warm welcome to all, including families and young children. We offer different forms of church service to those you might expect from the Church of England, with different things happening each Sunday of the month. We also offer non-Sunday activities - because church isn't just about Sunday.

As well as holding Sunday church services we help families prepare for baptism, either at St. Peter's or in the parish church of St. Nicholas. We have a small group of sensitive musicians who lead us in our worship on Sunday mornings.

Church is no longer just about Sundays. During the year we have activities at different times for different groups. There is a weekly coffee and chat as well as a monthly craft group, school assemblies in term time and Stepping Stones in the summer holidays.

With something different each Sunday of the month there's bound to be something that appeals at St. Peter's. The usual programme is:

First Sunday

Cafe Church

Second Sunday

Service of the Word

Third Sunday

Service of the Word

Fourth Sunday

Holy Communion

Cafe Church is an informal service aimed particularly at young families but enjoyed by people of all ages. There are craft activities during the service and cakes, biscuits and hot and cold drinks are provided.

The Service of the Word is a modern liturgical service with worship songs, teaching and prayers.

There is no specific children's teaching but some of the songs are chosen with children in mind.

Our communion service is usually held on the fourth Sunday of the month.

This follows the order of Common Worship and includes mainly modern worship songs and children-focussed songs with occasional traditional hymns.
